Cold Distance

The assignment during Sophomore year was to use a painting with cold colours, and have only one element with warm colours to bring attention to it.

I drew a made up landscape of a random space in Boston (I was going to add trees, make it a park next to the Charles, but, I failed at it so just left it blank and snow covered), and in it... myself, my soul sister, and her love. I used the warm colours on her, although I now look at those... beige/yellow pants and wince.

I just wanted to do a scenario of meeting again in Boston... and I imagined that it would be strange at first, we would have to stop and just look, because we have been away for so long... so this painting is about the distance. Why is her guy there? Because after talking to him, I have come to trust him. Actually, he is in the Red String series.

Now, almost two years later, and it seems like I really will get to meet my best friend/soul sister in Boston again. Where we met. Funny how the world works, right?
